Surge Support Mechanic (Engineer Equipment)

The Marine Corps’ Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) and Marine Corps Prepositioning Program has been operationally invaluable in supporting our Nation’s interests across the world. This unique program provides the essential elements needed to support and execute crisis response, global reach, and forward presence. The prepositioning of equipment and supplies to support MAGTFs from Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB), to Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) level employment, enables Marine forces to fulfill their role and responsibility as our Nation’s force in readiness. Job Summary

Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower-level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Perform other tasks as assigned. Basic Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Five years of directly related work experience. Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent. Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, or equivalent. Must maintain a valid passport. Must have valid State Drivers License. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. Travel required up to 70% of the time. Must be deployable within 72 hours. U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access. KBR Benefits
