Berry Street is on a mission to transform how Americans eat through nutrition therapy. Berry Street's platform connects individuals needing evidence‑based nutrition care with an expansive network of Registered Dietitians and AI‑powered tools. From weight management, diabetes, and heart health to kidney disease, maternal health, and 25+ other conditions, Berry Street's clinical team delivers personalized nutrition interventions tailored to each patient's unique physiological and psychological needs, improving outcomes and reducing total cost of care. Berry Street works with some of the largest health plans, as well as leading health systems and innovative care management companies to serve diverse populations across all 50 states. Visit berrystreet.co to learn more. Since launching in January 2023, Berry Street has grown to over 1,400 providers on our platform and served tens of thousands of patients nationwide. We're a Series B company backed by leading investors like Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs, as well as notable angel investors including the founders of Revolut, Spring, Grow Therapy, and Tilly.
Why Join Us We're a small, fast‑moving team with a big mission. This role is demanding — it requires focus, urgency, and ownership — but it's also highly rewarding. You'll see the direct impact of your work every day, grow quickly, and play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare. If you thrive at the intersection of engineering, product, and data — and get energy from using AI to accelerate learning loops and growth outcomes — you'll fit right in.
The Role We're looking for a Lead Growth Engineer to architect, scale, and optimize the systems that power Berry Street's growth engine. You'll design and own our experimentation infrastructure — from event pipelines and personalization engines to intelligent automation loops that convert insights into impact. This is a technical leadership role for someone who can zoom between hands‑on execution and strategic system design. You'll set technical direction, partner cross‑functionally with Marketing, Product, and Data Science, and mentor engineers on how to ship growth experiments fast, safely, and with measurable results. We're looking for an AI‑native builder — someone who cares deeply, experiments relentlessly, and leverages LLMs and automation as core tools of their craft.
What You’ll Do
Architect and scale the growth experimentation system: design frameworks, APIs, and data models that allow the team to test and learn rapidly
Lead the technical roadmap for growth engineering: define priorities, balance experimentation velocity with code quality, and scalability
Instrument for precision: implement analytics and telemetry pipelines that make every test measurable and actionable
Integrate AI and automation: build feedback loops using AI to generate hypotheses, run tests, optimize funnels, and personalize experiences dynamically
Mentor and multiply: guide engineers in building with a growth mindset — focusing on experimentation, velocity, and data‑informed iteration
Partner cross‑functionally: work closely with Product and Marketing to align growth experiments with company OKRs and patient impact
Drive measurable results: translate engineering output directly into activation, retention, and efficiency gains
Requirements
Experience: 6-8 years of full‑stack engineering, with at least 3 years in growth engineering
Technical Mastery: strong in TypeScript, React, and Node.js — comfortable architecting full growth stacks
Data & Experimentation Expertise: deep experience with A/B testing platforms (LaunchDarkly, GrowthBook) and analytics tools (Amplitude, Segment, Mixpanel)
AI‑Native Leadership: fluent in using LLMs and agentic tools (Cursor, Claude Code, OpenAI, etc.) to supercharge experimentation, personalization, and automation
Systems Thinker: able to design processes and architecture that make experimentation repeatable, scalable, and safe
Cross‑Functional Collaborator: proven ability to translate between engineering, marketing, and data teams
Bias to Action: pragmatic builder who ships, measures, and iterates rapidly
Bonus Points For
Experience building in healthtech, marketplaces, or other complex regulated ecosystems
Experience leading growth engineering squads or experimentation pods
Curiosity around reinforcement learning or automated experimentation agents
Our Tech Stack
React & React Native
Typescript
Next.JS and Nest.JS
TailwindCSS
TypeORM
