LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our client's organization in the Lake Bluff, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with IT/systems team to implement system enhancements.
Enhance reporting capabilities and automate critical reports.
Optimize the order audit program using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Implement advanced technology solutions.
Develop warehouse storage plans and design drawings.
Manage the warehouse slotting program using data-driven methods.
Track key performance indicators for proactive space management.
Implement advanced storage solutions to maximize space utilization.
Design systems for inventory management and preventive maintenance.
Oversee installation, maintenance, and safety compliance of warehouse equipment.
Develop equipment strategies focusing on standardization, safety, cost, and efficiency.
Implement quality control measures at the receiving stage.
Develop and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify and manage cost-saving initiatives.
Lead projects to enhance quality and productivity using lean methodologies.
Develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
Use data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Train staff on new processes and technologies.
Implement 5S standards across the distribution center.
Benchmark industry best practices to drive innovation.
Develop strategies for addressing underperforming metrics.
Serve as a backfill for warehouse leaders during absences.
Oversee receipt, storage, and shipment of goods.
Manage staff and monitor workflows to maintain operational continuity.
Provide temporary leadership during supervisory gaps.
Ensure operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
Lead change initiatives and ensure smooth adoption of new processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Understanding of supply chain logistics and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software.
Excellent project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced problem-solving skills.
Self-motivation and ability to operate independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with AutoCAD for facility layout and design.
Expertise in developing and auditing standard work procedures.
Excellent interpersonal skills and team dynamics.
Demonstrated leadership skills and sound judgment.
Attention to detail and precision in tasks.
Proactive and positive attitude.
