Salary range: $97,500 - $109,000 per year; actual pay based on experience.
Responsibilities
Review daily work assignments to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent staffing.
Assist the DON in managing nursing staff, scheduling breaks, reassigning employees, and enforcing policies with authority to issue coaching and corrective action with guidance.
Recruit, train, orient, supervise, schedule, time‑card, and address personnel issues in the nursing department.
Participate with medical consultants and the Administrator in selection of new admissions, assess needed items, and manage admission, retention, and discharge of residents.
Ensure necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing for prescribed resident/patient care.
Manage nursing department budget and provide budgetary planning information to the Administrator.
Complete daily rounds to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
Collaborate with the DON and Administrator in staff development programs to enhance quality resident care.
Work with regional personnel to continuously improve quality of resident/patient care.
Develop strategic plans or programs to reduce unnecessary returns to acute care.
Mentor nursing leaders and prepare for succession planning of role.
Enforce facility’s Abuse & Neglect policies.
Know Resident Rights and help residents exercise or protect rights.
Adhere to company policies and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Strong management and delegation skills, performance management, conflict management, and leadership through others.
Financial and management skills.
Flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
Positive attitude toward working with short‑ and long‑term care residents and the elderly.
Effective communication with diverse audiences, emotional situation handling, resource management, operational and fiscal needs analysis, complex written documents, and long and irregular hours.
English language proficiency.
Basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN license state required.
Preferred at least three years of previous nursing and leadership experience; ADON preferred.
Physical Requirements
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, distinguish smells and temperatures; mechanical devices optional.
Travel up to 10%.
Limited potential exposure to environmental hazards; safety standards adherence.
