Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in scheduling, staffing selection, and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs.
Support disciplinary actions and recommend concerning discharge.
Achieve P&L budgeted goals, including sales, labor, and margin plans.
Review sales goals, supply costs, stock loss/shrink results and goals.
Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
Review Customer Survey and customer feedback from previous day or week.
Prepare, package, stock, and display merchandise appropriately.
Maintain price change compliance.
Ensure food safety compliance.
Order manual items.
Supervise, train, and manage the Department Team in the manager’s absence.
Stock, wash, bundle, and trim rotating products according to procedure.
Remove inferior or out-of-code products from display.
Accurately price products and maintain sales prices up to date.
Consult customers regarding consumer products.
Execute signage compliance.
Keep the backroom neat and organized.
Meet or exceed sales floor condition expectations.
Ensure thorough training of all team members.
Promote a safe work environment.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Use production planner and dashboard properly.
Perform other daily tasks as required.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2-3 years of related retail experience.
One year of management experience.
Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective communication with team members.
Conflict resolution and root cause issue addressing.
Multi‑tasking capability.
Financial and statistical analysis for informed decisions.
Customer consultation within the department.
Leadership in a safety‑first environment.
Mentoring support for hourly team members.
Completion of all required certifications, including Serv Safe.
Physical Demands
Sit rarely 1‑2 hours, stand continuously 1‑8 hours, walk continuously 2‑8 hours.
Drive frequently 2‑4 hours.
