Experienced Physician Assistant - Family Practice + Sports Medicine - McKinney, TX
Texas Health Resources is pleased to announce a Physician Assistant opportunity in McKinney, Texas. This position works with an exceptionally trained Family Practice and Sports Medicine physician.
Overview Full Time, Monday – Friday work schedule. Outpatient only. Plan treatment and document using EPIC EMR. Well established relationship with sports teams in the area. Comprehensive benefits package including health, CME, malpractice, PTO & 401K.
Responsibilities
Perform history and physical exams on new and established patients and those being seen for follow up appointments. Consult with the supervising physician as needed.
Provide follow up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols or specific instructions from the supervising physician.
Initiate appropriate treatment and testing required for evaluation of illness based on training and experience.
Provide counseling and instruction to patients regarding health related issues.
Document clinical care of the patient according to established guidelines.
Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by training and experience and as directed by the supervising physician.
Communicate with patients and family members within state law confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines concerning health related questions.
Participate in continuous quality improvement processes and other initiatives in the area of the employee’s practice.
Qualifications
Texas licensed & Board-Certified Physician Assistant
Minimum 1-year experience in family practice; sports medicine experience a plus
Education & Experience Education: Master’s Degree, Physician Assistant required. Experience: 1 year as a Physician Assistant.
Licenses & Certifications PA - Physician Assistant, Required Upon Hire.
Skills Active listening and learning, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgment and decision making.
Supervision Individual Contributor
Physical & ADA Considerations ADA: Working indoors 67% or more; Mechanical Hazards 1-33%; Electrical Hazards 1-33%.
