Overview

The Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) works under the supervision and direction of the Medical Director of the Laboratory and/or other licensed Pathologist to prepare and perform the gross examination and dissection of anatomic pathology specimens. The PA prepares tissue for pathological tests including frozen section diagnosis, cytology specimens, muscle biopsies, ACE specimens, and renal biopsies. The PA photographs gross and microscopic specimens and assists in the preparation of educational conferences. The PA also performs postmortem examinations. Responsibilities

Education/Training : Bachelor’s Degree from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists\' Assistant program; Master of Health Science from a NAACLS Pathologists\' Assistant Program preferred Experience

Experience : Previous related experience including surgical pathology, autopsy dissection, histology procedures/techniques, gross dissection of surgical specimens, frozen sections and post-mortem examinations, preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently required. Licensure

Licensure:
