Imaging Technologist I, Multi-Modal - League City Campus (CT/X-Ray; up to 19 hrs per week)
Position information for a Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist I role at UTMB Health. This position may require flex shifts and support at different UTMB Campuses.
Job Description The Multi-modality Technologist I provides quality imaging and patient care within two medical imaging modalities in any combination, with MRI, CT, Mammography, or X-ray as the primary modality. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. Procedures are performed under general supervision of a Radiologist for diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The Technologist I must clearly explain procedures to patients and ensure they are competent in the procedure. The Technologist I will obtain diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality. The position may require on-call rotation and holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Six months Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - (ARRT) (R)
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RVT-VT)
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.
Registry in a second modality must be completed within 18 months of hire or transfer date.
American Heart Association BLS.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred
Three - six months experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality
Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
Work Schedule Up to 19.99 hours per week with no benefits. Must be willing to work all shifts. May include on-call rotation and holidays.
