Radiologic Technologist CT
to join our team! The Radiologic Technologist CT is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment, computers, and detectors. Essential Functions
Sets up and operate radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients Selects proper ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis Positions patient and sets up and adjusts equipment to obtain the best quality x-ray of the specific body area requested by the physician Takes preventative steps to minimize radiation exposure to the patient and fellow staff Adjusts and sets radiographic controls, such as kilovoltage and milliamperage, to prescribed specifications for proper timing of exposure Regulates the length and intensity of film exposure Positions and restrains patients; and takes X-rays of patients’ chest, limbs, or other body parts as requested by the physicians Checks X-ray for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols and following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures Knowledge of basic chemistry, film apparatus, and film processing techniques Knowledge of how disease and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work Knowledge of human anatomy Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications Strong attention to detail; thorough in completing work tasks Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to manage tasks to completion Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an Associate’s Degree in Radiology Studies Licensed by the Medical State Board of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) Certification in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification One (1) year of experience in CT Benefits
