Overview
Under the direction of a radiologist, Radiologic Technologist performs technical pediatric radiographic procedures without constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Participates in department and hospital LEAN improvement activities that align with the five True North Pillars. In addition, supports the CMH Service Excellence Program through demonstrated knowledge of CMH Shared Values, Mission and Vision, and Strategic Plan. Additionally, it’s important to us that we remain transparent with all potential job candidates. Because we value the safety of the patients and families we serve, as well as the Children’s Mercy staff, we want to let you know that the seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment for all employees in our organization. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. Performs radiographic procedures per department protocol. Able to utilize and be completely competent with fluoroscopy, C-arm, portable exams, bone density and all diagnostic equipment. Performs essential RIS/HIS functions. Performs and maintains LEAN practices as it relates to Patient Safety and Quality. Assists radiologist in all appropriate procedures. Qualifications
Associate's Degree Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or registry eligible ARRT; No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT Professional registration (ARRT or equivalent) Required BLS certification Required Current CEUs per ARRT requirements Required For Kansas locations, current licensure as a State of Kansas Radiologic Technologist required Benefits
