About the Burn Center The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is the only adult burn center in Maryland, verified by the American Burn Association. The Center offers inpatient Burn Unit care, an Outpatient Burn Wound Clinic, and a Scar Revision Clinic with access to the latest research and technologies for treating burn-related injuries.
Responsibilities
Pain management, fluid balance, critical care, stabilizing acutely burned patients, trauma recovery, and rehabilitation.
Care for post-operative patients who undergo skin grafting or skin transplants.
Address infection risk and sepsis risk as patients often have compromised skin integrity.
Familiarization with complex wound dressings.
Support patients in the Burn Unit, including long hours standing during dressings and showers.
Burn Nurses make a difference at challenging moments in patients’ lives, with opportunities to work with internationally renowned surgeons and pursue advanced courses such as Advanced Burn Life Support.

Qualifications, Experience And Education
RN license in Maryland or a compact state
CPR certification (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network)
Associate Degree in Nursing (Required to enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete the program within 5 years of hire)
Previous ICU experience preferred; minimum one year ICU experience required

Salary Salary Range: Minimum $38.49/hour - Maximum $59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
