Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The role involves preparing the operating room, managing surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team to provide safe, patient-centered perioperative care. Responsibilities
Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety per procedural requirements Maintains a sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support to maintain efficient workflow Monitors patient condition during surgery, documents significant changes, and notifies the surgeon of any concerns Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal per facility protocols Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting Participates in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies and safety standards Follows hospital safety rules and PPE and infection prevention measures Required Qualifications
One year's recent experience as a Pediatric Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Current PALS or ENPC certifications Preferred Qualifications
ACLS OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication Proficiency in reading, writing, and English communication Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions; proficiency with PC skills Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Ability to work with a diverse team and maintain professionalism Technical/motor skills for handling procedures and equipment Mental focus to manage deadlines, irregular schedules, and concentration requirements Visual acuity and effective communication abilities Benefits
