This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of evidence-based nursing practice and the theory of human caring. The RN is accountable for individualized patient care and outcomes over an entire episode of care. This position may be utilized as a resource RN in the Acute Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center, Renown South Meadows, and Renown Rehabilitation, in units where competencies are assessed and demonstrated.
Nature and Scope This position must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
This position must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety considerations appropriate to the patient's age, meeting standards of quality as measured by unit/department competency standards.
When possible, the family or significant others are considered part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts. The Acute Care Float RN coordinates care between other professionals.
Evidence-based nursing practice and critical thinking skills are required to provide safe patient care, involving interaction with internal and external contacts, exercising judgment, and making decisions. Professional nursing practice aligns with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
Acute Float RNs will float within Renown Health hospitals to departments where competencies have been demonstrated.
This position involves direct patient care.

Minimum Qualifications Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
Experience:
One year of acute care experience preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada RN license.
Certification(s):
BLS required; ACLS certification by American Heart Association standards required within six months of hire.
Computer/Typing:
Must acquire necessary computer skills within 90 days to complete online learning, access forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
