Oncology Nurse Navigator | ENT - Shands Hospital | Day Shift | Full-time

This position will serve as a head and neck oncology patient navigator that will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, allied health providers and administrative support to optimize care and create and implement quality metrics for head and neck oncology patients.
Primary duties include seeing patients with the physicians, coordinating tests and consultations for patients, coordination of action items from tumor board, communications with patients, referring physicians as well as external radiology and pathology departments. Patient education visits to prepare patients for surgery will also be required.
Registered nurse will possess knowledge and skills to provide care to patients in an ambulatory setting including blood draws. Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, and provide support, counseling, and education to patients. Works in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services. Directs clinical staff and maintains mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction of manager/medical director.
This position is an in-person/on-site only, there is no remote opportunity.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Five years of clinical experience as an RN required. Experience as an oncology patient navigator, experience in a specific organ site group, and/or experience working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary cancer program is very beneficial. Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Person should display initiative, has the ability to be multitasking and be able to take on responsibilities. Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential. Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current licensure by the State Florida as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life support certification required or obtained at first opportunity with employment. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required)
