Responsibilities

Seek to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT procedures, and uphold patient safety protocols. Serve as the first line interface with customers to fulfill imaging needs. Participate in CQI activities. Serve adult and geriatric patients; adolescents/pediatrics and infants may be treated occasionally. Care for and ensure the safety of patients undergoing treatment and the use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation. Determine the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shield patients accordingly. Assess patient pain that may interfere with imaging procedures and contact physicians for intervention when needed. Perform all aspects of patient care in a setting that optimizes safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures; work under the direction of the medical director. Take MR/CT calls according to the monthly schedule after regular department hours; complete all work before clocking out and inform nursing if an exam cannot be performed on the day ordered. Perform all quality control checks as prescribed; maintain accurate QC logs and service records. Provide high-quality imaging consistent with prescribed examinations and document deviations. Interact professionally with patients and families; ensure proper use of all equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions. Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient (pediatric, geriatric, and general population). Be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations and hospital policies; understand the functions of other departments. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program. One year of radiologic/imaging experience. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R) with CT training and experience; must obtain CT Registry within one year of hire; state license if required. Current AHA BLS certification. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Job Details
