Beltway Surgery Center stands as a dynamic healthcare facility situated on the north side of Indianapolis, near the intersection of 465 and 31 North. Our center offers 8 state-of-the-art operating rooms across 2 floors, plus a dedicated procedure room designed for pain management and IVF procedures. As a multispecialty center, we provide a wide spectrum of services including Orthopedics, Podiatry, GYN, GU, Oculoplastic, Plastics, ENT, Pain Management, and IVF. This position is a day shift role working either 5 8's (7:00am-3:30pm) or 4 10's (7:00am-5:30pm) Monday-Friday. On-call and holiday requirements apply.
Surgical Resource Technologists
service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. They assist in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation, provide assistance to the surgeon as allowed by professional and legal standards, and participate in the turnover of the operating room after procedures, ensuring proper routing and/or processing of specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. They work as part of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Responsibilities Ensure proper arrangement and readiness of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment in the operating room prior to procedures. Provide assistance to the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. Support turnover of the operating room after procedures, including routing and processing of specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Collaborate as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs, and other staff. Qualifications Requires a High School Diploma/GED. Requires certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA. Requires Basic Life Support Certification. Requires 17 continuing education units annually. Requires successful completion of Perioperative Services Preceptor class and/or completion of 4 precepting eLMS modules and/or facility-based preceptor training. Requires a minimum of 1 year experience in the Skilled Technologist role or relevant experience. Must be able to resource to other staff who are utilizing advanced technology in cases, including knowledge of instrument types and cases that utilize different technologies. Requires knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation. Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
