The role of the administrative supervisor is to assist physicians, employees, patients and visitors with issues that require supervision-level assistance. Aid in patient care and provide relief coverage for rest and meal breaks. Shift and Hours
Shift: Rotate – one day shift and one night shift per week. Hours: day shift 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; night shift 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Compensation
Hourly range: $49.69 - $77.02. Individual wages determined based on qualifications and experience. Education
Required — Associate Degree in Nursing Preferred — Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience
Required — 5 years’ experience as an RN in an acute care setting Previous nursing supervisory experience preferred Certifications
Required: Current California Registered Nursing license, current ACLS, PALS and BLS certification Regulatory and Vaccination
Tenet complies with federal, state, and local vaccination laws. If offered the position and vaccination is required by law, proof of full vaccination or an approved exemption will be required prior to start. If exempt, regular testing may be required. Responsibilities
Coordinate staffing for nursing in acute patient care areas. Assign nursing and ancillary staff according to patient care needs and staff competency. Communicate to nursing and hospital administration matters requiring immediate action. Communication is timely and appropriate. Ensure contract staff have appropriate credentials, orientation and evaluation dates completed. Audit registry invoices and approve for payment. Maintain data for contract staff and services. Promote professionalism and teamwork on all units. Round on all acute inpatient units within the hospital (3 times per shift or more if necessary). Maintain current nursing practice through attendance at education programs and continuing education. Ensure nursing licenses are current and in good standing with the state board of nursing. Demonstrate competence in caring for patients across infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Provide care with compassion, dignity and respect; accept care when necessary due to staffing or emergent needs. Ensure safety of staff, patients and visitors and adhere to service excellence standards. Operate within regulatory guidelines (Title XXII, The Joint Commission, and applicable requirements). Manage nursing staff of the acute patient care hospital and infusion clinic. Provide clear decisions and communication aligned with the organizational strategic plan and sound management practices. Make rounds as a nursing administrative supervisor and resource for staff. Complete death packets for expired patients and coordinate notifications with donor alliance and the coroner’s office. Act as a pharmacy liaison after hours, weekends, and holidays when a pharmacist is not on campus. Maintain knowledge of district policies and procedures and serve as a resource for staff. Round on patients, families, and staff; resolve issues and perform service recovery when needed. After hours, weekends, and holidays, serve as incident commander and coordinate notifications until the appropriate official arrives to assume command in mass casualty or emergency events.
