06:45‑17:15, Monday – Friday, 5x8s, 40 hrs per week, on‑call weekend/holiday rotations.

Sign‑on bonus : $10,000 for external experienced Surgical Technologists.

Position Summary This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedures.

Core Functions

Prepare for surgical procedures. Pull appropriate instruments and supplies and ensure their proper working order. Review case carts for correct instruments and supplies. Plan ahead for upcoming surgical case needs.

Anticipate the surgeon's needs. Pass instruments and retract tissue.

Demonstrate aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure. Dispose of sharps and trash and place used supplies into case cart for processing. Participate in counting of sharps, instruments and sponges. Prepare instruments for cleaning following each case.

Ensure that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.

Assist with OR turnover between cases. Participate in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.

May provide business support to the department including assigned administrative tasks.

Participate in or lead the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and current Basic Life Support certification.

Must be registered with State Regulatory Agency (where applicable).

Must demonstrate manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations.

Must be conscientious, organized, and orderly with the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.

Must stay abreast of new developments in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology.

Two years of operating room experience.
