Overview
Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Neurosurgery at Ascension. This role covers inpatient and outpatient care in a growing neurosurgical practice. Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Recommend, participate in, and support efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care. Accept referrals from other physicians and act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on patient needs, medical staff, and hospital. Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested. Provide documentation meeting insurance requirements and appeal denials in a timely manner. Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty needs, which may include on-call schedules. Combination of inpatient and outpatient work with rounding on inpatient consults and follow-ups, and assisting the surgeon in the OR. Maintain a monthly call schedule of one weekend per month (Sat/Sun 8:00-5:00) for inpatient rounding and call support. Position Highlights

Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). NCCPA certification required unless graduated and practicing prior to 1990 (then NCCPA certification preferred). Education
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required by date of hire. Master's Degree preferred. Additional Preferences
