Overview The Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Provider team at Sentara Heart Hospital (SHH) is seeking a full-time Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to support the CSICU. This role focuses on the care of critically ill cardiac surgery patients in the ICU. The APP ensures best practices are implemented for cardiothoracic surgery patients through all phases of care and participates in ongoing quality care initiatives and evaluation of patient outcomes and CTS program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, advanced practice care in the CSICU for critically ill cardiac surgery patients in the ICU setting.

Ensure best practices are implemented for cardiothoracic surgery patients and participate in quality care initiatives, evaluation of patient outcomes, and overall CTS program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Cardiothoracic surgery background.

At least two years of advanced practice experience in an acute care clinical setting (highly preferred).

Critical care background preferred.

Willingness to work nights and rotating weekends.
