Family Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care - PRN
Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is looking for dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our healthcare team in Franklin, Donelson, and Hermitage, TN. This is a PRN opportunity with responsibilities and qualifications below.
Overview Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care operates walk-in centers providing treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health and wellness care. The centers are open seven days a week with schedules to accommodate patient needs. All centers are Accredited Care Centers by the Urgent Care Association, recognizing safety, quality, and scope of services.
Job Summary As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care, you will provide exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. You will diagnose, treat, and educate patients while working collaboratively with a team. Our schedule for full-time Providers includes a rotating 36-40 hour/week calendar with 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors and coworkers.
Provide convenient, friendly patient care to all who come through our door seeking health-related services.
Provide leadership, direction, and assistance during emergencies while maintaining a comforting and reassuring presence for patients.
Work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment with varying hours, changing locations, and frequent contact with others.
Perform medical assessment, treatment, management and follow-up of clinic patients including primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals and workers' compensation.
Perform medical procedures including laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting and abscess incision and drainage.
Establish and monitor an appropriate level of care for clinic patients.
Oversee and support on-site laboratory, x-rays, injections, and specimen collections where applicable.
Maintain clinical core competency and align operations with medical policy and professional standards.
Collaborate with Center Leadership and staff to ensure compliance with policies affecting medical practice, quality of care and patient satisfaction.
Participate in the development and revision of policies; contribute to continuing education for staff and clinicians.
Identify opportunities for growth and development of services within the Center.
Ensure licensing, certification and accrediting body compliance.
Participate in education programs for staff and represents the clinic at internal and external meetings or events as needed.
Provide guidance to medical staff to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction.
What’s Required?
1 year of related experience as a Provider is preferred
State License as an APRN or Physician Assistant
Certification as an APRN or Physician Assistant through the AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA
DEA license, or willingness to obtain upon hire
DOT certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire
BLS certification
