Independently performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-directed interventional procedures using proper techniques and protocols. Works within their scope of practice and in accordance with registry standards in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and activities within the Ultrasound Department. Exercises professional judgment to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on-call responsibilities. Minimum Education Requirements
Associate degree in Allied Health, majoring in Ultrasonography. Preferred: Graduate of an accredited program. Licensure/Certification/Registration
Minimum of two ARDMS-approved registries in practiced specialties such as Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular Technology, Echo, Musculoskeletal, Neurosonology, Breast. CPR certification required. Active ARDMS member. Experience Requirements
No prior job-related experience required. Preferred: 2 years of ultrasound experience. Knowledge/Skills
Proficient in diagnostic procedures and image acquisition for physician interpretation. Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Radiology Information System (RIS), and Image Storage. Knowledge of advanced US applications.
