Additionally, this role is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams within our Global Customer Support organization to understand and be sensitive to our customer and business needs from end to end. The Field Service Engineer is a remote field-based position with daily travel locations within the assigned territory.
(Indianapolis, Indiana) . Ideal candidates will reside within a 30-mile radius of where the position is based. Company vehicle provided. 5% overnight travel possible and a valid driver’s license is required. Home-based PART-TIME position with daily travel to customer sites in the Indianapolis, Indiana territory. Responsibilities
Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems located within hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the territory and in accordance with customer support agreements (exclusive of DHA/DoD facilities). Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders; diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components; maintain ownership of the work order; raise issues to the team lead and manager; log, track, and document all work order activity; be capable of fully supporting all products within the region. Execute a preventive maintenance program, provide limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams, and other applicable support activities. Demonstrate a moderate use of competency and appropriate ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Provide efficient field services to all BD customers in a timely manner, including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support. Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for service and follow approved inventory control policies and procedures. Provide accurate and timely documentation detailing field activity, expenses, time distribution and other required information. Continue training and self-development to learn the products and applications of the company for success in the role, advance skillsets, and attend management-approved seminars and training sessions to advance to the next level in 2-3 years. Qualifications Required
High School diploma plus 3 years of related field service experience. Minimum of 3 years of combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting proprietary and standard applications. 24×7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment, required. Good mechanical, computer, verbal, written, and time management skills, required. Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience, required. Must be able to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal supervision. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards. Preferred
Associate Degree in Healthcare Technology or other technical field. Prior experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician or in a hospital Bio-Med environment, a plus. Prior military Bio-Med experience, a plus. Prior Automated Teller Machine (ATM) experience, a plus. Upon hire, must provide proof of and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility which enables access to customer sites to perform essential job functions (Hepatitis B, Annual Flu, MMR, Varicella, TB/PPD, Tdap, COVID-19). Weight lifting requirement: minimum 70 pounds. Work Arrangement & Location
