Job Summary: Assists with daily aircraft launch and recovery operations. Assists with troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft electro-environmental systems. Repairs, replaces, rebuilds, and adjusts aircraft electro-environmental systems, test equipment and aircraft accessories. Sound knowledge of electro-environmental systems and associated support equipment. Reads and interprets manufacturers and aircraft\'s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Performs periodic and other hourly or calendar inspections as required. Receives technical guidance from Managers, Supervisors, Leads or higher-level technicians as required. May be required to obtain and maintain special certifications as directed by management. Reviews and completes forms documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance, enters maintenance actions into applicable MIS system and will make entries in forms, logs, records, or electronic equivalent as required. May be required to aid writing/initiating engineering technical assistance requests. All electro-environmental personnel must be able to pass a color vision test. Complete all assignments and tasks as directed by managers, supervisors, leads, and more senior technicians.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily aircraft launch and recovery operations.
Troubleshoot malfunctions in electro-environmental systems.
Repair, replace, rebuild, and adjust electro-environmental systems, test equipment, and aircraft accessories.
Interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and engineering data to determine repair methods.
Perform periodic and other inspections as required.
Document maintenance actions in the MIS system and related records.
Maintain color vision ability as required.
Follow directions from managers, supervisors, leads, and senior technicians.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 4 years performing as a USAF or sister service fighter aircraft Electrical and Environmental technician, with at least 1 year as F-16 Electrical and Environmental within the last 10 years.
Working knowledge of MIS systems, forms documentation and strict adherence to aircraft technical data.
All Electro-Environmental personnel must be able to pass a color vision test.
Working Conditions
High school diploma or GED required. Mathematics skills desirable.
Must speak, read, write, and understand English; able to interpret technical data and special operating instructions in English.
Willing to deploy to support off-station requirements.
Performs housekeeping duties within 100 feet of assigned work areas (excluding bathrooms).
Performs vehicle use inspections, cleaning, and wash.
May work in other work sections throughout the contract.
Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (or higher, if required).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver\'s license if required.
If CMA access is required, must pass color vision test.
Environment ranges from office, hangar, and flightline and requires extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking.
