Position Overview The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced or Senior Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Level 3 Responsibilities

Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to validate Airframe Stress design and finite element modeling and load‑case assessment.

Verify structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools.

Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product’s environment.

Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.

Understand industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths.

Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze and report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Define and document certification and test results to substantiate that requirements are satisfied.

Support in‑service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

Work under general direction.

Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define and maintain certification processes that will ensure requirements are met.

Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts.

Oversee compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis and finite element modeling.

Investigate emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Work under consultative direction.

Understand the unique challenges of working a legacy program that was originally certified using 2D drawings, in contrast to a new development program which is purely model‑based.

Level 4 Responsibilities

Lead development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.

Verify structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools.

Develop and use finite element models.

Understand proper application of loads in FEMs.

Understand industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths.

Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.

Lead development of test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze and report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts.

Ensure compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis, DaDT analysis, and finite element modeling in the accomplishment of work.

Define and document certification and test results to substantiate that requirements are satisfied.

Support in‑service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Work under minimal direction.

Location and Worksite This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Security Clearance This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).

Experience with Nastran/Patran finite element models (FEM).

Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models.

5 or more years of experience in structural analysis.

Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Active U.S. Secret Clearance.

Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran.

Experience validating or verifying finite element model results and/or through a test program.

Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques).

Experience with aircraft primary structures on Boeing commercial derivatives – commercial and/or military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777).

Experience with supporting structural NCR analysis in a fast‑paced aircraft build environment.

Experience with Boeing structural analysis methods and tools.

Experience with structural certification through FAA.

Experience with LRU/equipment qualification.
