Overview
Receiving Quality Engineer (RQE) – The RQE will report to the Receiving Quality Manager as part of the Quality Organization. This position is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of customer and company products in compliance with design data and contractual and regulatory requirements. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Leads material review board investigations and activities. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Serves as the primary interface to customers and L3Harris functional departments for quality related matters respective to incoming material. Responsibilities
Develop and implement inspection, testing and evaluation standards and procedures. Analyze reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical systems, field and clinical data. Investigate causes of discrepancies and nonconformities; develop dispositions and corrective action plans. Lead material review board investigations and activities. Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met. Act as primary liaison to customers and internal departments for quality-related matters related to incoming material. Essential Functions
Collaborates effectively in cross-functional teams. Strong technical aptitude with focus on mechanical or electrical parts/assemblies. Experience with quality control tools and techniques. Understanding of process performance metrics and quality assurance measures. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with computer tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with AS9100 and MRB processes. Ability to handle physical material handling up to 35 pounds. Qualifications
Practical knowledge of Quality Inspection; Master’s Degree with less than a year of experience is acceptable. U.S. citizenship and an existing DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Preferred Additional Skills
Experience working in technically focused teams. Working knowledge of SAP system. Fundamentals of FAA Airworthiness & Repair Station Activities.
