Designer I - Railroad Civil/Track (EIT) Be part of our dynamic Civil/Track Design team within Benesch's thriving Railroad Services group. As a Civil/Track team member, you will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver services for Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects. Your responsibilities will involve contributing to the creation of track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on projects for freight and commuter railroads and rail agencies, with additional training in MicroStation InRoads/Open Roads considered a significant advantage. Location The position provides a Hybrid schedule and is open to candidates in the following locations where there is a specialized Railroad-Track team actively involved in Railroad-Track business development: Milwaukee, WI; Kansas City, KS; Naperville, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC. Benesch's Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working to design and maintain active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects. The Impact You Will Have

You will gain experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders. You will design, draft elements, and integrate data and perform fundamental analysis of project elements. You will work on challenging design projects, working closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to meet project deadlines within budget. What We Are Looking For

You have a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and up to four years of experience in a similar capacity. Successful completion of the EIT / FE exam or ability to complete the exam within six months of employment. You have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Working knowledge of MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads Designer is a major plus. You have a strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). You enjoy problem-solving and learning new technical skills. You are willing to accept occasional out-of-town travel to meet project demands. Illinois Pay Range $60,000 — $95,000 USD Benefits & Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act. The final agreement is based on factors including education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision benefits; company-paid life insurance; short-term and long-term disability plans; a 401(k) plan with profit-sharing contributions; and wellness programs.
