Description Summary : Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyors, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment. Supervises other Mechanics. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Knowledge and experience working with conveyor systems, electrical 3-phase motor controls/PLC, overall material handling experience. Position will be responsible for managing multiple sites within the New Jersey area. Responsible for managing after hours calls and emergencies. Perform repair / inspection, installation of conveyor systems, racking, balers, air compressors, carton sealers, etc., and all other building and support areas. Recognize potential malfunctions and proactively repair to mitigate costs. Maintain complete repair order records. Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repair or replace defective parts. Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricate and clean parts. Start devices to test their performance. Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Initiate purchase order for parts and machines. Repair electrical equipment. Position is full-time and on-site. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise 4+ Conveyor Mechanics at multiple sites. Education And/or Experience Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent work experience Two+ years of related experience working on industry related conveyor systems Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Welding Certificate is highly desirable.
