HVAC Lead
to join our team in Washington, DC. As an
HVAC Lead , you will operate, repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage the control systems and associated subsystems; coordinate with the designated liaison on all current and future modifications to the BMS. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required and must be obtainable and maintained.
Responsibilities
Lead duties: ensure all major activity is entered in the daily log; log into Archibus and print tickets for the next shift; support Foreman to ensure shifts are covered prior to approving leave requests; ensure relief is on-site before authorizing staff to leave; brief the incoming shift on all major issues; ensure paperwork (PMs, WOs, WO requests, etc.) is completed properly and turned in on time; ensure staff sign in/out of their shifts and record hours accurately.
Perform HVAC Journeyman duties, including installation, service, and repair of environmental-control systems in office buildings and other commercial facilities, following blueprints or engineering specifications; fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork; install evaporator units and refrigerant piping; connect motors, compressors, temperature and humidity controls, and control panels; test systems and adjust to proper operation; diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort; perform preventative maintenance; identify opportunities to conserve building energy related to HVAC systems.
Other related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Formal or informal education or training ensuring reading/writing ability for successful job performance.
Must have HVAC Journeyman certification OR DC 3rd Stationary Engineer license OR MD 1st Stationary Engineer license OR Building Automation System (BAS) operator certification.
Knowledge/certification to work on refrigeration systems is required.
Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
BAS training (Siemens APOGEE; BACnet; or equivalent) is preferred.
Compensation This position is compensated at an hourly rate of $49.67, in accordance with the terms set forth in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Benefits
Paid Time Off (PTO) accrues at 3.08 hours per pay period.
Sick Leave accrues at 3.69 hours per pay period.
All accruals and benefit entitlements are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the union CBA.
