Description The Commercial Construction Estimator will play a vital role in our construction process, collaborating closely with project managers, designers, and field teams. This role involves estimating projects from conceptual design through completion, with an emphasis on creating accurate, detailed cost projections and custom construction assemblies. Candidates must possess the technical expertise and practical experience necessary to understand field requirements and translate them into actionable and efficient estimates.

Compensation $78,000 - $88,000
Responsibilities
Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop accurate cost estimates for design-build and other construction projects.
Assess existing building conditions to provide detailed and realistic estimates.
Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements and field realities.
Build and maintain detailed custom assemblies tailored for construction projects, assigning appropriate material types and labor costs to each item.
Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare precise estimates.
Research and source materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
Conduct site visits and evaluate existing building conditions to inform estimates and project scopes.
Utilize project management software (e.g., ClickUp) to document and communicate estimate details clearly and effectively.
Provide value engineering insights and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Support project managers in monitoring budgets and managing cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
All employees are required to adhere to the guidelines outlined in the employee handbook and fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience (preferably in Florida)
Strong proficiency in cost estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, SmartBid, ProEst, or similar)
Solid understanding of construction methods, material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor markets
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
Excellent analytical, numerical, and organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication — able to present proposals and defend assumptions to clients
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, deadline-driven
Ability to manage multiple estimates / bids in parallel
Valid driver’s license and willingness to visit job sites as needed
