Mechanical Design Engineer | High-Growth Industrial Equipment
Location: South Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Salary: Up to $150,000 per year
Travel: Approximately 3 days per month for two months a year (expenses covered)
Benefits: Health insurance and retirement benefits are NOT offered (pay is negotiable to cover this)
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen or Green Card holder
Full-time, permanent W-2 employee
Job highlights:
No degree is required; 5+ years of SolidWorks experience is strongly preferred
Defined growth path to Project Engineer or Head of Engineering
Minimal travel: Approximately 3 days per month for two months a year (expenses covered)
The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
Lead the transition of design files by converting existing AutoCAD 2D drawings into highly detailed SolidWorks 3D models
Perform mechanical design work for custom rotary equipment, ensuring models and drawings are accurate for the in-house machine and fabrication shops
Utilize strong mechanical aptitude to contribute practical design solutions for rotary dryers, kilns, and conditioners
Support project needs by occasionally traveling (approximately 3 days at a time) to customer sites nationwide
Opportunity to engage in the entire design lifecycle, which may evolve into a Project Engineer role involving direct customer interaction and consultation
Qualifications required:
5+ years proficient in SolidWorks; candidates will be tested on the ability to convert 2D to 3D
Strong mechanical aptitude (capable of tearing down and reassembling mechanical components)
Prior experience or strong willingness to perform design conversion from AutoCAD 2D to SolidWorks 3D
Willingness to travel minimally (approx. 2 months a year, 3 days at a time) to customer sites across the U.S.
Proficient in navigating computer systems
Solid work history
U.S. citizen or green card holder
