Overview
We are seeking Construction Superintendents to join Batson-Cook Construction in Atlanta, GA. We specialize in general construction across top commercial markets including healthcare and wood frame. We’re looking for talented individuals to foster relationships with clients while building projects that stand tall for generations.
Essential duties, responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. Compensation varies by assignment and market.
Responsibilities
Authorize and/or approve project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
Communicate and provide clear direction and leadership to the project team, including subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and others.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control; may provide day-to-day direction of project administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
Ensure compliance with established procedures.
Follow, implement, and enforce safety policies (e.g., job safety meetings, proper use of safety equipment, compliance by subs/suppliers).
Supervise salaried employees, craft employees, and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
Provide technical assistance (e.g., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment) as required.
Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule; interface with client representatives, government officials, other contractors, etc.
Must be willing to travel if required.
Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
Communicate and reinforce the company vision, mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 4-5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Related experience relevant to the project or market served.
