Purpose: The primary role of the Control Systems Engineer is to oversee installation and maintenance of process measurement and control instrumentation for the refinery, supporting Operations and Maintenance with daily execution. Key Objectives and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain Process Control infrastructure for the refinery. Provide daily troubleshooting of Process Control issues. PID Loop Tuning. Improve existing control schemes. Maintain Microsoft HMI network. Develop and maintain Process Control GUI diagrams. Interface with operations, maintenance, and engineering to ensure system accurately represents field processes and equipment. Support refinery alarm management, console health metrics, alarm data, alarm reporting, and rationalization activities. Drive and/or participate in the MOC process, including initiation, evaluation, completion, and safety reviews. Review and develop new technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. Manage external resources as needed. Interface with Process Control System vendor for system performance. Perform project engineering and project management for Process Control, SIS, and Electrical projects. Develop Instrumentation specifications for new instruments. Required Education/Experiences: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering. 5+ years of Process Control experience. Preferred Education/Experiences: Safety Systems experience. Experience in a refinery or petrochemical facility. Core Competencies: Strong computer and Microsoft Network skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Programming experience with DCS systems, ABB Infi90, and 800xa preferred.
