Overview
Mission City Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter who is passionate about precision, craftsmanship, and leadership on the jobsite. In this role, you will take ownership of carpentry work on residential and commercial projects, guiding teams in framing, finish work, and layout execution. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring quality craftsmanship while collaborating closely with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives on building structures that exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on carpentry work, including framing, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and layout tasks. Lead and mentor carpentry crews, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. Execute precise layouts for framing, foundations, and finish details. Inspect work for quality, adherence to codes, and compliance with plans. Collaborate with superintendents and project managers to coordinate project tasks and resolve challenges. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas on all job sites. Track materials, tools, and equipment, reporting needs to project leadership. Document daily activities, progress, and site conditions as required. Qualifications
Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter, Foreman, or senior-level carpenter in residential or commercial construction. Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, construction methods, and building codes. Proficient in using power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment. Ability to read, understand, and build directly from blueprints and drawings. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and train a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, standing, and working at heights. Valid driver\'s license.
