Construction Project Manager Design & Construction Location: Harahan, LA Summary

Plans and administers construction and renovation projects utilizing knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials. Works with University Department of Space Management, University Architect, and project owners from project planning through project completion and turnover. Assists in the preparation of technical, bidding, and contractual documents, establishes project budgets, and negotiates contracts and change orders. Participates in selecting project consultants and contractors. Ensures that projects are completed within budget; project deliverables and documentation are submitted timely, accurately, and in accordance with University policies and practices. Facilitates and/or coordinates design and construction efforts, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving among project owners, Facilities Management, construction teams, architects, designers, and other stakeholders. Monitors contractor performance to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Coordinates work performed under separate contracts to support projects. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience. Experience with CAD and BIM programs, a plus. Experience with construction scheduling and contract management programs, a plus. Effective communication skills in both oral and written reports. Ability to perform duties at non-normal working hours and days as required by construction schedules. Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and meet established or anticipated deadlines. Experience working in an academic environment. Preferred Qualifications #J-18808-Ljbffr
