The mission of the Department of Pharmacy is to provide excellent and innovative pharmaceutical care to patients and the community through safe and collaborative practices, incorporating education, research, and technology. We are currently searching for a 40-hour Pharmacy Technician to work in a call center environment in our new onsite retail pharmacy.

The position will be onsite in an office setting. The shift will be mainly Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with a weekend rotation obligation.

Responsibilities

Greet patients by phone with a helpful attitude. Assist with medication-related inquiries, prescription refills, and insurance questions. Refer to pharmacists as needed and use translation services for non-English speakers.

Accurately receive and process prescriptions, update patient records, and handle documentation for non-electronic scripts, PMP checks, and 340B eligibility. Offer pharmacist consultations to all via phone.

Verify and update insurance information, process claims, resolve coverage issues, and collaborate with pharmacists and prescribers on alternative therapies or discount options. Communicate clearly with patients about co-pays and prescriptions.

Minimum Requirements Education/ Certification

High School Diploma or equivalent

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.

Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association.

Completion of a Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy approved training program or a minimum of 500 hours worked as a pharmacy technician trainee.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
