The School of Engineering in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University invites candidates to apply for a full-time faculty non-tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank or Lecturer/Associate Lecturer rank in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, and related disciplines for a start date of Fall 2025. Of particular interest is a candidate with background in one or more of the following areas: controls; automation; robotics; circuits and electronics; and programmable logic controllers. Position Number: 986174. Kent Campus – Kent, OH. The college is growing with new programs, expanded facilities, ABET-accredited programs, and opportunities to engage in research while maintaining a teaching focus. Responsibilities
Remain current in their field, including maintaining appropriate certifications in some disciplines. Teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels using a variety of formats, including in-person and online. Design and deliver course content effectively, facilitate discussions, and provide students with feedback and guidance to support student success. Prepare course materials (syllabi, assignments, exams, handouts) and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes. Participate in student learning outcome assessment for accreditation and support the accreditation process. Evaluate and grade student work and submit grades and required documentation by deadlines. Be available to students for office hours and provide academic support; be mindful of a diverse population. Attend meetings related to teaching duties, training, development, and college activities. Some non-tenure-track faculty may have load for administrative tasks, research, or other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
M.S. degree at the time of hire in mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering, robotics engineering, controls engineering, or related field. Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written) including ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly. Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with students, colleagues, and/or industry partners. Preferred Qualifications
A doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.) in a relevant field. Experience with innovative teaching methods, including online learning. Relevant industry experience. Previous teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate levels. Application Materials
