Key Position Details This position will focus on the intake of benign hematology referrals. The ideal candidate will have inpatient or outpatient hematology nursing experience.

Additional preferred qualifications include inpatient or outpatient experience with benign hematology or related oncology experience

Remote position - AHCI St. Paul will be home base

Full time position (80 hours every two-week pay period)

8-hour, days shifts

No weekends

Job Description Experienced oncology nurses are essential components of the Allina Health Cancer Institute. Allina Health is transforming the way patients receive cancer care, with an absolute commitment to providing fully integrated, Whole Person Care across the entire continuum of cancer treatment.

The Registered Nurse - Oncology is responsible for assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care for medical, surgical or radiation oncology patient populations in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. This includes collaborating with multidisciplinary hematology/oncology care team, members, along with internal and external ancillary partners, in a fast-paced environment. Dedicated to the growth and development of the Allina Health Cancer institute, incorporating evidence-based practice initiatives that align with ONS, NCCN, COC and organizational standards of care.

Principle Responsibilities

Completes Patient Care in Clinic Setting including Assessment, Education and RN Triage.

Develops Nursing Diagnosis and expected outcomes.

Collaborates with health care team in order to coordinate and maintain continuity of care.

Completes Administrative tasks including indirect nursing activities which promote quality patient care.

Documents care per Allina Health Cancer Institute policies and practices.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Vocational degree Accredited School of Nursing

0 to 2 years inpatient or outpatient oncology nursing experience. If no direct oncology experience, would consider a nurse with 2 years experience working in an ambulatory or hospital care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Accredited School of Nursing

0 to 2 years Chemotherapy experience, for medical oncology RNs only

Licenses/Certifications

Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire

Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) upon hire or within 2 years of hire preferred

BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Allina Health required within 30 Days

Physical Demands

Medium Work*:

Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range Pay Range: $40.37 to $55.85 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
