Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Radiologic Technologist to join our team.
Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to physician protocols and performs epidural procedures. A Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available.
Schedule : Mon - Fri: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Total Hours per Week : 32
Pay Range : $27.50/hr - $41.00/hr*
Suggested rate is based on years of direct, relevant experience
Key Accountabilities
Completion of requested x-rays in a timely manner that are of high quality
Essential Duties
Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
Obtains the patient7s history to ensure proper scheduling.
Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.
Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answering questions as best as possible.
Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.
Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with ALARA standards (including wearing a film badge).
Selects proper technical factors according to patient size and produces/develops quality radiographs with appropriate lead markers.
Crtiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.
Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations).
Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor.
Participates in training of new employees.
Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies.
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Must have active, valid registration and continued certification through the ARRT
New York and New Jersey candidates must have active, valid radiology licensure in their respective states
Florida candidates must have active, valid Florida CRT licensure
Knowledge of x-ray procedures and epidural procedures required.
Ability to operate all equipment and machinery, including processors and computer systems
