Dental Assistant - Downtown Public Health Dental Clinic
Public Health – Seattle & King County is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our diverse team at the Downtown Public Health Dental Clinic. This posting will remain open until filled, with the first review of applicants on December 14, 2022, and every Friday thereafter. Dental Assistants work under the supervision of a Dentist or Dental Hygienist, assisting with dental procedures, taking radiographs, educating patients, and maintaining clinical operations. This full-time, temporary position serves pediatric clients, pregnant or parenting women referred by Maternity Support Services, and other adults. This is a Temporary Limited Term (TLT) position, which may be eligible for benefits. Responsibilities include:
Act as a chairside assistant for various dental procedures. Take diagnostic quality radiographs. Provide child prophylaxis, apply sealants, and topical agents. Review patient medical and dental histories, assist with emergencies, and educate patients on oral health. Maintain patient records, ensure clinic cleanliness, and manage supplies. Schedule appointments, follow up on missed visits, and perform billing and registration tasks. Qualifications:
Current registration as a Dental Assistant in Washington. Completion of a recognized Dental Assistant program or equivalent experience. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques, terminology, and equipment. Ability to manage schedules, work effectively in a team, and interact with diverse populations. Desired Qualifications:
Experience in a public health setting. Familiarity with EPIC software. Bilingual in English and Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish (highly encouraged). Work location is primarily at the Downtown Dental Clinic, with occasional work at other clinics in King County. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, full-time, 40 hours per week.
