Planner and Design Manager - Healthcare (Full-Time) MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) is looking for a Project Planner to provide technical guidance in a higher education medical school environment to assist with planning and design review for a mix of academic, medical, laboratory, research, and campus infrastructure projects. Managing a project’s or program’s long range planning models based on the needs of department and institutional priorities. Provide information and recommendations on physical and comprehensive planning and design issues, large scale planning studies, and special facilities planning topics with a focus on medical, laboratory, and research facilities. Verify that institutional planning objectives and strategies are incorporated into departmental plans and projects. Verify projects in the planning phase are completed within the approved budget and schedule, and conform to applicable codes and zoning ordinances. Act as a key client contact point and decision-maker and attend client meetings as an Owner’s Representative. Participate in the resolution of planning and technical conflicts by recommending cost effective options and alternative approaches. Education / Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or related field preferred. Experience with clinical medical environments, laboratory and research space planning, and knowledge of supporting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and medical processes systems required. Professional registration or certifications such as CCM, CCE, or advanced technical knowledge. Detailed knowledge of planning, design, construction, and project controls, with knowledge of building codes, design standards, documentation, contract administration, and ability to interpret design and engineering standards. Knowledge of personnel and project management techniques including budgeting, leadership, training, and business. Skills and Abilities

Expertise with MBP's diverse services. Provides leadership and training to other team members. Direct client contact and client care. Operates at expert level in one or more service areas with responsibility for final work product. Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions and manage multiple variables. Ability to analyze and optimize internal and external processes. Ability to work on project sites, including standing, climbing, working at heights, and navigating uneven terrain. Guidance / Responsibility

Generally able to work independently and within project teams to complete assigned tasks for project execution. Receives guidance from the Client Project Manager with support from the on-site MBP Project Team. Supervisory

Generally performs in a managerial role, coordinating and monitoring the efforts of the project design team and client stakeholders, with analytical duties as well. Employment details

$110,000 - $150,000 per year Benefits
