Speech Pathologist - Speech Therapy - Full Time
Position Summary: The incumbent shall be responsible for providing a full range of speech therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. Pay range: $35.15 - $55.67/hr Responsibilities
Communicates and demonstrates a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers, and others. Conducts initial assessments, selects appropriate assessment tools, adaptive equipment and materials based on the patient’s age and development level. Documents assessment data in the medical record per policy and procedure. Develops individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals, tied to functional deficits; selects interventions based on assessment results suitable for the patient’s age, cognitive abilities, and development level. Evaluates patient response to treatment; updates the treatment plan as needed; provides information to patients and families regarding status, program planning and discharge considerations. Documents the course of patient care, including progress notes, justification for skilled intervention, and communication with referring providers; ensures appropriate capture of charges; completes discharge summaries per policy and procedures. Provides patient and family education to support continued functional independence; integrates family into discharge planning and education; measures education effectiveness via feedback and quality metrics. Participates in continuing education and professional development activities; attends departmental in-service sessions and external professional growth activities as scheduled. Adheres to applicable federal and state guidelines, professional organizations, facility policies, and organizational policies. Meets established organizational productivity standards in a fiscally responsible manner. Other duties as assigned and tasks within the Speech Therapy Department Competency. Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification required unless completing a Clinical Fellowship year. Current licensure in the state of practice is required; current BLS Certification mandated. Experience: background with pediatric, adult and geriatric populations with communication disabilities and/or dysphagia is preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year candidates may be considered. Current CPR certification is mandated. Employment Details
