The campus offers a variety of medical services, including a day surgery center, cancer treatment center, long-term care facility, behavioral health center, specialty care clinics, a community wellness and outreach program, a women and children’s center, interventional heart program and physician practices. Job location: Fort Mill/Monroe area as applicable. Hours: Weekend Nights - Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 9p-9a. Schedule may include rotating shifts, call back, and holidays as required. Job Summary

The CT Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes scanner, post processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment. Major Responsibilities

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam. Contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies. Properly identify patients using two identifiers and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepare patients for the procedure and document appropriately. Interview patients for a complete medical history. Review EMR for in-patients, ER, and outpatients to obtain pertinent clinical history. Record medical history on requisitions. Correlate other test results and laboratory data with exam being performed. Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion and dictated results. Prepare and administer IV contrast according to departmental protocols. Record contrast type and amount when requested. Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed. Recognize abnormal anatomy and process additional images or measurements as instructed. Perform basic patient care functions. Inform nursing personnel of changes in patient condition. Initiate life support measures when necessary and assist in code procedures during emergencies. Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures. Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control policies. Obtain medication or contrast material as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner. Practice radiation safety for self, staff, patients and families. Follow radiation safety standards. Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager and clinical engineering/radiology engineer; maintain knowledge to work safely in an environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease. Adhere to fire and safety procedures. Attend in-service classes and complete safety modules. Work accurately and timely in crisis and emergency situations; rotate shifts as required, including call back, holidays, and weekends. Adhere to attendance policies. Operate radiology computer systems, enter orders and charge for procedures/supplies. Document contrast administration in the MAR. Maintain a neat and stocked work area; clean work areas to promote a clean workplace. Assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services with a CT scan. Minimum Job Requirements

Education, Certification / License, Work Experience Graduate of an institution accredited by ARRT; ARRT certification in Radiology, or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT scanning within one year of hire; current CPR certification. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Requires moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies. Occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation. May stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel. May be exposed to various physical conditions and equipment. Must follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent exposure to ionizing radiation.
