MTSI is seeking a mid-level R&D Scientist/Engineer specializing in fluid dynamics and space-based EO/IR systems to develop and simulate advanced aerospace and defense systems for DoD and IC applications. This role requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and hands-on experience with EO/IR sensor data.
Responsibilities
Develop and simulate advanced aerospace and defense systems for DoD/IC applications with a focus on fluid dynamics and space-based EO/IR systems.
Collaborate across disciplines to deliver technically sound solutions in a dynamic R&D environment.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
BS in aeronautical or mechanical engineering, physics, or computer science
+4 years of relevant experience in DoD / IC
Active TS/SCI and willingness to take CI Polygraph
Experience working with EO/IR sensor data
Knowledge of space-based EO/IR sensor phenomenology
Proficient in one or more of the following languages: Python, C/C++, MATLAB
Proven ability to manage simultaneous projects and prioritize effectively in a dynamic R&D environment
Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and departments, while also being self-sufficient when necessary
Desired Qualifications
GEOINT processing research and development experience
Extensive experience working with DoD EO/IR sensor data
Experience modeling/simulating advanced foreign weapon system signatures
+6 years relevant experience
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
MS in aeronautical or mechanical engineering, physics, or computer science
