Senior Verification Engineer

to join the team. Responsibilities

Establish yourself as an integral member of a pre-silicon verification team, owning verification of SOC and integration of its components and/or SoC level flows Gain knowledge of the overall SoC architecture, implementation of complex features/flows/protocols, and their interactions with other parts of the SoC, with the platform, and with software Develop verification strategy, test plans, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies Apply verification principles to write tests, test generators, test benches, checkers, coverage, and other verification collateral Run tests, debug failures to root cause, and recommend fixes Learn and adapt in a complex and dynamic environment Collaborate with partners to improve design, verification plans/collateral, and methodology to prevent, reduce, and/or find bugs sooner and more reliably Mentor and coach team members Work with architects, logic designers, post-silicon validators, other verification engineers, and IP/tool providers Contribute to a culture that embodies our values Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year of technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience 3+ years of experience with Computer Architecture and SoC design and verification principles, including SystemVerilog 3+ years of experience developing and using verification environments in industry-standard languages like SVTB, UVM, or formal verification Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. This includes the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field 3+ years of experience writing scripts/software with Python or C/C++ Verification experience as part of a CPU, SoC and/or IP development team Expertise in one or more of the following areas: DFD, JTAG, debug protocols; Memory Controller/PHY IPs, DDR protocols and related firmware; CPU cores and firmware; fabric IPs and protocols; PCIe IPs, firmware; Manageability/IPs and firmware; Security IPs, firmware, SoC-level features/flows, OS/software interactions Knowledge of full chip and system-level flows and protocols Strong communication and collaboration skills for diverse, inclusive teams Note: Silicon Engineering IC4 compensation ranges are provided by Microsoft and vary by location.
