Overview The Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for estimating Type 3 and Type 5 construction of multi-story wood-framed buildings, primarily in Construction Division 06. Associates will meet with contractors and customers to assist in the estimating process and complete plans within the agreed timeframe. Estimators must be detail-oriented, patient, and experienced in estimating manually or with approved software. This role also involves assisting in the store's daily operations as assigned by the Store Manager. Responsibilities Create precise material lists for installed sales. Involved in material usage and estimating. Develop scopes of work for subcontracted labor. Read plans and create estimates. Meet with customers for reviews and adjustments. Perform store duties as assigned by the store manager. Qualifications Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Capability to review architectural and structural drawings and estimate costs for materials and labor. Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting reports, procedures, and regulations; capable of writing reports and business correspondence; effective in presenting information and responding to questions. Problem-solving skills to handle practical issues with limited standardization; ability to interpret instructions in various formats. Experience with Word Processing, Inventory, Spreadsheet Software, and PlanSwift software.
