Assists the SC City Manager in the overall performance of the fleet services function with respect to servicing, vehicle damage repair and/or in-fleeting/de-fleeting of rental vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District. Develops, implements and communicates operating plans to maximize fleet utilization, directing and controlling maintenance, vehicle damage repair and reconditioning of fleet vehicles, including in-fleeting and de-fleeting activities. Competes and manages team performance by setting and monitoring goals related to service, damage, in-fleet and deletion KPIs (e.g., technician productivity, percent out of service, overdue idle cars, vendor cycle time, days to deletion, venue quality). Assesses daily workload across service, repair and in-fleet/de-fleet areas; conducts daily pre-shift briefings to review performance and daily goals. Ensures repair orders are completed per guidelines and that warranty submissions meet or exceed business plans with proper documentation. Ensures timely completion of recalls, preventative maintenance and quality vehicle repairs. Forecasts and manages financial drivers (e.g., S&W per day, warranty recovery, cost per estimate, cost per deletion). Coordinates automotive damage appraisals/repairs, including documentation, parts/tools/supplies orders. Supports vendor relationships and workload assignment; ensures purchase orders, invoicing, and payments are handled timely; maintains vendor insurance files. Oversees repair and maintenance of buses at bussing locations as required. Prioritizes workload per business objectives; participates in hiring, onboarding, training, recognition and performance management of managers and staff to foster a high-performance culture. Manages employee relations in line with company policies and partners with HR as needed. Maintains a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and practices.
