GE Aerospace is seeking dynamic, results-driven FLIGHT DECK Specialist to deploy GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model, FLIGHT DECK, and ensure alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) priorities. The FLIGHT DECK Specialist will coach teams, optimize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Responsibilities
Guide Operations teams through their FLIGHT DECK journey, providing ongoing teaching and coaching of lean principles, theories, practices and drive ownership and adoption through the Operations team. Lean Leadership: Coach and deploy FLIGHT DECK fundamentals, including Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Value Stream Management, Operating Cadences, Action Planning, Problem Solving, 5S, and Flow/Pull, to optimize shop performance. Continuous Improvement: Identify and eliminate waste using lean tools such as value stream mapping, kaizen events, and problem-solving frameworks. Daily Management: Implement visual management systems to track SQDC metrics, enabling real-time problem-solving and decision-making at genba. Team Development: Mentor and develop shop floor teams, fostering a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and constructive development. Customer Focus: Ensure manufacturing processes align with customer needs, delivering high-quality products on time while reducing costs. Sustainment: Drive discipline and rigor to sustain improvements, ensuring long-term operational success. Should be flexible to provide support to off-shift team as needed. Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing) Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations and/or Training Strong knowledge of lean principles, including FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and behaviors Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience using structured methodologies such as Kata, At Point Problem Solving, and/or Problem-Solving Reports Experience with value stream mapping and genba walks Desired Characteristics
