Job Description Summary Job Description Summary Product Validation FLIGHT DECK Leader – Peebles Test Operations: This role reports to the Site Leader and is responsible for driving the transformation of Peebles Test Operations through the application of GE Aerospace’s proprietary FLIGHT DECK operating system. The leader will shape and execute the FLIGHT DECK vision by coaching and mentoring the Plant Staff in FLIGHT DECK methodologies, including lean practices, Daily Shop Management, and SQDC principles. Collaborating with the staff, this role will plan and execute FLIGHT DECK Academies, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement initiatives to deliver exceptional results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Job Description In this role, you will focus on projects and process improvement to ensure that products are manufactured with the appropriate Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC) hierarchy, as defined by GE Aerospace’s proprietary FLIGHT DECK operating system. The FLIGHT DECK Lean Site Leader will:

Demonstrate Leadership

in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for identified model business unit(s)/areas, aligned with FLIGHT DECK principles.

Utilize experience or expertise

to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short- and long-term goals using FLIGHT DECK methodologies.

Act as a change agent

in the implementation of demand flow, leveraging FLIGHT DECK tools and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Establish and implement strategies, programs, and practices

to achieve FLIGHT DECK adoption and transformation at the facility.

Manage the full implementation

of the FLIGHT DECK management system, including strategy, value stream activities, daily management, and architecture/infrastructure.

Lead multiple FLIGHT DECK Lean Leaders (Gemba Coaches)

and lean support teams to drive best practices in process design and implementation of the FLIGHT DECK system.

Oversee the sitewide training team and Training Operations Manager

to ensure alignment with FLIGHT DECK transformation efforts and training compliance. This includes curriculum development, delivery, and audit readiness.

Advise and coach site leadership and their teams

on FLIGHT DECK principles and lean methodologies.

Assess and address gaps

through course development and delivery, ensuring alignment with FLIGHT DECK strategies.

Create, with site staff, the FLIGHT DECK vision

and implement the strategy to assist the operation in its lean transformation.

Drive measurable improvements

within the business using FLIGHT DECK tools and SQDC principles.

Sensei/Coach Gemba Coaches

on the facilitation of week-long Kaizen events aligned with FLIGHT DECK metrics and business site-level goals.

Champion change across the organization

to foster growth in FLIGHT DECK adoption and the site teaming journey.

Engage with site business leaders

to collaborate on FLIGHT DECK initiatives that foster goal attainment for current and future business needs.

Bring new ideas, motivation, and positive support

to all levels of the team, aligned with FLIGHT DECK principles.

Lead and interface effectively

with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects that meet EHS, production, quality, inventory, and cost savings goals.

Interface with OEMs and internal contacts

to ensure that technology and processes are positioned for current and future success, leveraging FLIGHT DECK methodologies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 5 years of lean manufacturing leadership experience, with demonstrated application of FLIGHT DECK principles.

Desired Experience and Characteristics

Desired experience: 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality improvement, and people leadership, and 5+ years of experience in lean or operations leadership with FLIGHT DECK methodology.

Ability to drive improvement strategies while coaching leaders through problem-solving techniques using FLIGHT DECK tools.

Corporate Training Program graduate (Manufacturing / Operations / Engineering).

Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training, with a focus on FLIGHT DECK principles.

Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions aligned with FLIGHT DECK methodologies.

Strong organizational skills and ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously.

Ability to work in a matrix organization and facilitate across all levels of the organization using FLIGHT DECK tools.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a focus on FLIGHT DECK coaching and mentoring.

Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects.

Strong project and team leadership experience, with a focus on FLIGHT DECK transformation.
