Overview
Data Center Facility Manager, DCC Communities — AWS Join to apply for the Data Center Facility Manager, DCC Communities role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS operates world‑class data centers and the Data Center Engineering Operations team maintains and operates critical infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability. Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure, maintaining high availability and performance while ensuring work is performed to high quality without impacting internal/external customers and while meeting service level agreements. Manage on-site teams of 24x7 shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring work conforms to established practices, procedures and safety protocols. Drive safety and security culture and compliance within the team. Hire, coach, and promote team members; manage career development and performance. Foster a healthy team culture and peak morale. Manage the operations budget and expenditures efficiently. Engage in improvement projects, coordinating with multiple support teams from conception to completion. Act as an escalation point for facilities-related issues. Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, building monitoring systems, etc.). Apply root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues; respond to out-of-hours emergencies. Support more than one location/site as needed; assist in new facility builds and efficiency projects. Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other basic administrative tools for day-to-day tasks. Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations: participate in group lifts of 40+ pounds; maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder. Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, and lift objects; work in an environment requiring provided ear protection. Basic Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma; 4+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports; 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other mission-critical environment with knowledge of UPS, generators, HVAC, evaporators and other critical infrastructure. Alternatively, 7+ years of technical training and/or experience (military/trade school). Preferred Qualifications
Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications; Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline. 5+ years of experience in a management position with 5+ direct reports. 7+ years of experience in a data center or mission-critical environment with emphasis on building and equipment operation. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers (feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, air handling units, CRAH units). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to produce technical writing or business justifications. About AWS

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Base pay ranges from $119,400/year to $227,800/year. Pay is based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
